We saw Dr Perrot when Ari was 5 months - chronic constipation issues. He is now 4, still with issues and refuses all attempts for toilet training.
She. Was. Incredible. She told me I’m doing an amazing job, that he’s covered with all his therapies, that his Paed is the best I could ask for. His diet isn’t too bad at all for an ASD kid and he will toilet train when he’s ready so stop pushing.
She was REAL. She was HONEST and she was SUPPORTIVE. Honestly sometimes we need to be told that we aren’t doing this ASD Mum/Parent gig badly at all. She explained “You’re already supporting him to talk, interact, communicate, build strength, deal with sensory stuff etc. let him do this himself”
She also gave us a bunch of resources - including a book I ordered on Amazon in her office and the best thing I’ve been told. ”BACK OFF”
I highly. Highly. Highly reccomend her for anything to do with continence and toileting. She absolutely made my year with how real she is.
